2024 VIGNOLES

VARIETAL INFORMATION: This shy-bearing Vignoles (veen' yole) grape has become the jewel of Missouri white wines. The difficult-to-grow variety achieves its richest complexities in the warm and sunny vineyards of Missouri.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Harvested late August into early September, 2023; Alcohol - 12.0%

TASTING INFORMATION: Stone Hill's Vignoles exudes rich, fresh tropical fruit flavors and aromas. We stop the fermentation at just the right moment to achieve the perfect balance of natural sweetness. It’s a fine accompaniment for spicy foods such as Asian and Mexican dishes. You’ll also enjoy sipping it by itself or with desserts such as fresh fruit or raspberry cheesecake. (750 ml)

2024 TRAMINETTE

VARIETAL INFORMATION: Traminette, an up-and-coming new variety in Missouri vineyards, is a hybrid cross of well-known Gewurztraminer and Joannes 23-416. Cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks preserves the spicy floral aromas and flavors of this exciting new wine, which is similar to a Moscato.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Harvested mid-September 2022; Alcohol - 11.5%

TASTING INFORMATION: Crisp and spicy Alsatian-style white wine with a lovely floral aromatics of honeysuckle and elderflower on the nose. Pronounced notes of lychee and pear on the palate. Additional notes of lime and candied orange peel add a balance to the sweeter notes of Golden Delicious and peach. Great match with seafood and Asian cuisine. (750 ml)

2022 OZARK HELLBENDER

BLEND INFORMATION: Since the Ozark Hellbender spends most of its life secretively hiding under rocks in the bottom of Ozark streams we are keeping our blend a secret as well. But we’ll give you some hints! All varieties of grapes used are grown in the Ozark Mountain AVA. Some grapes aged for one year in neutral oak barrels to bring out complexity, softness and drinkability. Then just before bottling, like any good family recipe, we add the final variety which is held secret only for our winemakers to know.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Alcohol - 13%; Residual Sugar - 1.5%

TASTING INFORMATION: A super smooth red blend boasting aromatics of blueberry, black currant, roasted vanilla, a smoky chocolate note and touch of black pepper. It's fresh acid and balanced tannins round out this delicious wine. The palate is jammy up front with nice dark chocolate mocha notes. Lots of ripe red and black fruits with a pleasant toasty oak finish. *A portion of the proceeds from every bottle of Ozark Hellbender wine sold is donated to the Saint Louis Zoo and hellbender conservation. BLEND INFORMATION: Reminiscent of the traditional pink Moscato-style wine, a very cold fermentation stopped early gives us a slightly lower alcohol wine with an impactful aromatic expression. By capturing its natural fermentative CO2, the wine has a subtle fizz which leads to a refreshing and lively rosé.

LIMITED DISTRIBUTION

VARIETAL INFORMATION:

Our Demi-Sec is a blend of two very popular American Hybrid varieties, relatively recent hybrids crossed in the United States within the last 50 years. Prominently Traminette and Valvin Muscat grapes, that melt in your mouth with tropical flavors and luxurious sweetness.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

A Methode Champenoise sparkling wine made in the traditional French method. The cuveé is a blend of Traminette, which was harvest earlier than normal to help preserve the more floral and melon tones of the variety to complement it’s partner in crime, Valvin Muscat, in this blend. Secondary fermentation in the bottle was completed in 1.5 months and then the sparkler spent another 1 year and 1 month in the bottle on the lees to help improve the mid-palate texture.

TASTING INFORMATION:

Fresh melon with a touch of floral and citrus notes on the nose. The palate introduces itself with zippy bubbles followed by a sweet, very soft and silky mouthfeel. The honeysuckle and sweet Meyer lemon flavors from the Muscat is quite apparent on the palate.

BLEND INFORMATION: Our Steinberg Red is a wonderful semi-sweet wine which presents a soft palate impression exquisitely achieved by our winemaker's skillful and intricate blending of a selection of our red and white wines.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Alcohol - 13.0%; Residual Sugar - 2.9%

TASTING INFORMATION: The companion wine to our popular Steinberg White. A red and white wine blend, the nose has fresh berries of the blue and black kind. Also, with a plum character that you find in a Pinot Noir, and a hint of floral rose notes. The palate is full, with balanced acidity, sweetness and roundness. Lots of fresh berries on the palate and a Jolly Rancher candy note. Very drinkable, perfect chilled, for sipping or served with ribs, burgers, ham and sausages.(750 ml)
