2022 NORTON

VARIETAL INFORMATION: The Norton grape is a true native American grape of the species Vitis aestivalis and the official state grape of Missouri. Since the Norton grape evolved under North-American, continental growing conditions, it is perfectly suited to our long, warm summers and cold winters. In addition, it is blessed with a natural resistance to all types of fungal disease. Our Estate Bottled Norton is produced from 100 percent estate-grown Norton grapes from our own Norton Vineyards high above the Missouri River. Careful fermentation on the skins is followed by 12 months of aging in French, Hungarian and American oak barrels.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Harvested October 2021; Alcohol - 13.5%

TASTING INFORMATION: Barrel aged in oak imparts sweeter nuances in the form of burnt sugar on top of a crème bruleé dish. Cedar, cinnamon, mint chocolate, and rose petals with fragrant Maraschino cherries and earthiness makes for a very satisfying typical Norton nose. The wine has a soft attack on the palate that crescendos on the mid palette with juicy red fruit and vanilla cream pie. (750ml)

2022 OZARK HELLBENDER

BLEND INFORMATION: Since the Ozark Hellbender spends most of its life secretively hiding under rocks in the bottom of Ozark streams we are keeping our blend a secret as well. But we’ll give you some hints! All varieties of grapes used are grown in the Ozark Mountain AVA. Some grapes aged for one year in neutral oak barrels to bring out complexity, softness and drinkability. Then just before bottling, like any good family recipe, we add the final variety which is held secret only for our winemakers to know.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Alcohol - 13%; Residual Sugar - 1.5%

TASTING INFORMATION: A super smooth red blend boasting aromatics of blueberry, black currant, roasted vanilla, a smoky chocolate note and touch of black pepper. It's fresh acid and balanced tannins round out this delicious wine. The palate is jammy up front with nice dark chocolate mocha notes. Lots of ripe red and black fruits with a pleasant toasty oak finish. *A portion of the proceeds from every bottle of Ozark Hellbender wine sold is donated to the Saint Louis Zoo and hellbender conservation. BLEND INFORMATION: In the great tradition of Portugal, Stone Hill has produced vintage-style Port throughout its history. The finest Norton grapes from a single vintage are blended and oak aged in both small American and French oak barrels for one year, then bottle-aged to produce a rich, dark dessert wine.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Harvested November 2020; Alcohol - 18.0%; Residual Sugar - 8.5%

TASTING INFORMATION: Deep red wine that has soft tannins on the palate with hints of dark chocolate covered blueberries. Floral violet sweetness with notes of black tea leaves and roasted coffee. Enjoy it now or let it age in the bottle for a few years. Great served with nuts and flavorful cheeses such as Stilton after dinner or by the fireside. Since the Norton grape evolved under midwestern, continental growing conditions, it is perfectly suited to our long, warm summers and cold winters. In addition, it is blessed with a natural resistance to all types of fungal disease. Our Estate Bottled Norton is produced from 100 percent estate-grown Norton grapes from our Cross J Vineyard. This small vineyard surrounds Jim and Betty Held's home on a stunning hilltop overlooking the Missouri River. Their goal with this vineyard is simple: to produce the finest wine possible. Careful fermentation on the skins is followed by 12 months of aging in European and American oak barrels. In contrast to our regular Estate Bottled Norton, we use a higher percentage of new and European oak in our Cross J Vineyard Norton.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Harvested November 2022; Alcohol - 13.0%

TASTING INFORMATION: Deeply intense inky purple color adorns this famed single vineyard estate grown Norton. Flavors of mountain black cherry and Black Doris plums with earthy black pepper, mocha, and sage complement the bright, lingering acidity and plush tannins. Drinks excellently now, and benefits from 3 to 10+ years. (750 ml)

VARIETAL INFORMATION: Chambourcinis a French-American hybrid of unknown parentage, hybridized in the 1800s byJoannes Seyve. It has been commercially available only since 1963. Thislate-ripening variety is carefully fermented on the skins and then aged for oneyear in French and American oak barrels.
