Comparing with ALL California wines ever tasted!
From Anonymous of Santa Barbara, California on .
This bottle stands out as a brilliantly done example of the Norton grape. Food pairings with this wine are also VERY memorable, especially fresh sliced Campari tomatoes (surprisingly great) and smoked lamb (a conventional pairing). We had a blind tasting and everyone was surprised it was from the Norton grape (as if anyone knew what a Norton grape was -- they didn't), and that it was from Hermann, MO. The MOST memorable wine experience we have had, in YEARS!!
Simply put... Best wine ever

I love Norton wines, none are as good as those of Stonehill, including other wineries of Hermann, MO. The Cross J is ALWAYS the best! But the 2012 Cross J is the best wine I have ever tasted. I've had 2013, and 2015 vintages, both great, but the 2012 is the best wine ever!!
Second to none!

Cross J Norton is one of the best red wines produced in the US.
Nectar of the Gods

My boyfriend and I have been on the Norton hunt. We started with this one which is, in a sense, unfortunate for us as no other Norton will ever live up to it. I will be ordering more...much, much more...

This is an excellent wine! I just wish the local retailers could get it for me. The shipping and handling really adds to the cost per bottle, which makes it a VERY special purchase for me.

Incredibly smooth with no aftertaste! I would highly recommend this wine.
Cross J Norton superb
From Mike Nichols of Overland Park, Kansas on .
The Cross J 2012 is outstanding. The aroma upon pouring entices the nostrils to enjoy it just a little bit longer before tasting. The initial touch on the palate is smooth and rich, with the essence of a slightly tart fruitiness before the full flavor of the Norton grape settles in. The finish is amazing, with the tart-sweet mixture of flavor we have come to love about the Norton grape. This private-stock wine is a must-buy.
